Observaciones The Inter-University Program for Latino Research (IUPLR) is hosting a 3-day research-training workshop designed to promote more quantitative and qualitative research on the condition of Latinos in US colleges and universities. Participants accepted into the program will attend a series of sessions led by experts in higher education and related fields that will focus on current policy issues, pertinent data sets, best practices, and new strategies. Special attention will be given to the power and relevance of employing mixed methods in future investigations.

The workshop will take place at the University of Notre Dame, June 28 through July 01, 2009.
The IUPLR Headquarters will assume the travel and lodging costs for 20 individuals that will be selected by the higher education committee. Priority will be given to applicants who are involved, or who are about to begin, research on Latino issues and who are affiliated with one of the 24 IUPLR research centers. Applicants not affiliated with IUPLR will also be considered as space permits. This year’s workshop is made possible, in part, with support from the National Hispanic Education Alliance (NHEA)/Kellogg Foundation.
